The project has awarded to Ebert construction by the Minister of Defence. The purpose of the project was to design and build several new hangars and associated amenities to accommodate the new NH90 and A109 helicopters for the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Redesign underfloor heating system and the introduction of Rehau’s Rautherm S sub-surface heating pipe system into the New Zealand market. This enabled Plumbcraft to be innovative in satisfying the client’s requirements. The hangers required the installation of 28,000 metes of 25mm Rautherm S heating pipe, 400 metres of 063mm DUO Rauthermex pipe in-ground heating mains, and 50mm industrial manifolds.

This project enabled Plumbcraft to demonstrated its ability to be creative and strategic thinkers with context to a large scale installation that was in a remote location.

The project won Ebert Construction the Minister of Defence’s Award of Excellence to Industry.
